Case Management¶
There are a number of features designed to help you view, edit or monitor changes made to the status of a case. The case status can be found under the case info drop down menu on the top case header banner. A case can have the following case statuses:
Case Status | Description |
---|---|
Ready for analysis | Case has been processed and is ready to be analysed |
In progress | Case is currently being analysed |
Awaiting authorisation | Case has been analysed by one clinical scientist and is waiting for a second review |
Authorised | The case has gone through a secondary review |
Awaiting clinical review | Case is awaiting clinical review e.g., GTAB |
Clinical report generated | The case has been reviewed by clinicians and a clinical report has been generated |
Closed | A Clinical report has been returned to the referring clinician and case is closed |
Changing case status¶
To edit the case status:
- Click the case info drop down menu and select "Update case status"
- Select the preferred case status and click 'update status'
- The status will now update on the case info drop down menu
Closed Cases¶
When a case is closed, the following banner will be displayed on the top of each page:
- Once a case is closed, users will be unable to add comments, flag or add variants for export or add and edit variant classifications.
- Closed cases can be reopened by changing the case status to any status other than closed, for example 'In progress'.
- Once a case is closed on the Cancer Bridge DSS, users still need to complete the outcome questionnaire on the interpretation portal for the case to move to the 'reported' cases tab.
- When a case is closed on the Interpretation portal, it still needs to be closed on the Cancer DSS. Improvements to the case closure process and the exit questionnaire will be made as part of a future release.
Consulting the audit¶
To get access to the audit logs, please raise a request via the Genomics England Service Desk. A member of the team at Genomics England will be able to generate a report.
