Accessing Cancer DSS¶
To login to the cDSS, you will need the following:
- An NHS smartcard, obtained from locally from your IT department
- A cDSS user account with a login email and password, which can be requested via the GEL Service Desk
- A HSCN connection using any computer connected to your local Trust network i.e., NHS WiFi or Ethernet

How do I raise a service desk ticket?
If you have not raised a service desk ticket before, you will need to create a service desk account. You should be able to do so with your NHS email. Once you have created the account and have logged on to the Jira service desk, select “NGIS – New User Request” and fill in the appropriate fields in the form.
How do I connect to the HSCN?
By using any computer connected to your local Trust network i.e., NHS WiFi or Ethernet.
Why is my login not working?
First, ensure you are connected to HSCN, using a laptop or desktop that is connected to your local Trust network.
If problems persist, please try logging outand then attempt to access the cDSS again.
In the event that problems still persist, please raise a ticket via the Genomics England service desk.
If you have never logged onto the cDSS previously, ensure you have been granted a cDSS account with a login email and password.
Why have I been logged out of the cDSS?
Your session may have expired. Users are logged out of the system after 20 minutes of inactivity. You will need to log back in and may need to navigate back to the case you had last opened.
How do I logout of the cDSS?
To logout of the DSS system, click on your initials on the top right of the screen and click the ‘Logout’ button. Logging out will return you to the login screen.
